Stirrup-handled vase representing a sleeping... - Lot 96 - Eve
Stirrup-handled vase representing a sleeping dignitary.
Seated with his legs drawn up to his chest and his arms resting on his knees, the man has his eyes closed and his head bent to the left. He is wearing a tunic, a headdress with a chin strap and large earrings. A necklace with four pointed pendants adorns his neck. The ensemble is treated with great realism and takes up a recurring theme of Mochica ceremonial vases.
