Rare vase representing a character in religious costume He is extending his arms as a sign of devotion. His closed fists are hollowed out and probably hold wooden ceremonial sticks, now lost. He is dressed in a long tunic decorated with triangular motifs, alternating stylized feline faces and steps symbolizing rain. Crossed zigzag body paintings cover his entire face. He wears the traditional four-pointed headdress, also decorated with staircase motifs. Red, orange, beige, gray and black polychrome terracotta. Huari culture, Peru, 700-1000 AD. H. 19 - l. 17,5 - Th. 11,5 cm Condition: Good with some polychrome wear. Provenance : Former Israeli collection. Private collection, France.
