IMPORTANT RECIPIENT CEREMONIEL Mimbres, Mongollon, Nouveau Mexique vers 1 200 - 1 300 apres J.-C. Pierre volcanique Dimensions 8 cm x 14 cm x 32 cm Ce recipient sculpte dans la pierre etonne par sa forme inhabituelle. Rectangulaire, les rebords sont epais et s'arquent significativement. Il s'agit d'un recipient a moudre les graines ou petits fruits de cueillette telles que les baies. Origine: Issu des Montagnes Burro, Nouveau Mexique. Provenance: Ancienne collection de L. E. Gay dont nous avons le temoignage suivant: ‘This was also found in the Burro Mountains, on hunting trip, always felt it was used to grind dry berries and herbs because of the size and shape.
